- I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow, learn and mature. It is my desire as a teacher to help students meet their fullest potential by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites open communication and sharing.
My role as a teacher is to guide the students as they learn to search for knowledge and find answers to their own questions. For students to learn and grow, they need the opportunity to discover information for themselves and practice skills in authentic situations. Students also need the opportunity to study things that are meaningful and relevant to their life and interests.
- I believe children when treated with respect will have greater respect for their teachers, their peers, and their classroom. When students feel safe, secure and sure of what is expected of them, learning becomes a fun filled experience. Our classroom has rules that allow students to learn and feel safe. I believe it is important to treat all students in a fair, kind, and calm manner. I also recognize that each student has their own personality and learning style and I strive to meet their individual needs.
One of my desires as a teacher is to instill a love of learning in my students. I want them to enjoy coming to school every day and look forward to our next learning adventure.
